Vantage engaged IAS International to evaluate their existing competence system and the standards of competence for all 48 offshore positions.

Using the findings from the analyses, IAS International were able to design a new bespoke competence management system for Vantage, utilizing onboard simulation technology at the core of its design.

An IAS International SME with an On The Rig simulator was deployed to the Platinum Explorer Drill Ship in Labuan so that Operational Readiness Assessments, Operator training and performance coaching could be conducted on the crew during the rig’s voyage to the operating location in India.

The new competence management system has now been successfully rolled out across the entire Vantage fleet. Training was also delivered on dedicated Vantage personnel, enabling them to become qualified assessors and completely self sufficient.
