Transocean

IAS International were contracted by Transocean to provide rig reactivation services in the form of familiarization training and performance coaching onboard the DD3 and Norge semi-submersible drilling rigs.

During the rig tows, the rig crews received training and coaching on the rigs’ drilling operating systems on a one-to-one basis by the IAS International Drilling SME coach.

By adopting this proactive approach, it enabled the crews to practice operator skills and to prepare for unplanned events, such as well control and stuck pipe scenarios prior to commencing operations.

The start ups for both rigs were successfully completed on time with zero incidents or NPT. Transocean’s client recognized the key role the training and coaching played in the successful drilling campaigns.
