Japan Drilling
Japan Drilling contracted IAS International to develop an assessment standard for their key supervisory positions then use this to assess their personnel onboard one of their rigs. Each supervisor was assessed, an Individual Development Plan (IDP) was provided to each person, and a findings & recommendations report provided to JDC.
Following on from this we then ran a series of 9 Safety Leadership Courses in Dubai for the crews assigned to the rig. The course enabled the Candidates to gain an understanding of the knowledge and skills required to be an effective leader who can manage the operation safely and efficiently. We returned to the rig two more times, 3 months apart, to help the crews close out their IDPs and ensure the improved performance standards were maintained.
The crews enjoyed the course, and we received a lot of positive feedback from the attendees and the client, North Oil Company. It was so successful that NOC asked us to visit two of the other Jack-ups they had on hire to instil the same safety culture now being demonstrated by the JDC crews.
